Hot rods and race transmissions
We build and freshen up automatics for hot rods, street cars and the strip: Turbo 350s, Turbo 400s and Powerglides, with the installation and fabrication to fit them.
Drag racers run our Powerglides in Super Pro, and mud trucks run our Turbo 400s.

When to bring it in
Any of these is worth a call before it gets worse.
- Slipping: the engine revs, but the car doesn’t pick up speed
- Late, harsh or jerky shifts

About the shop
I’m Larry Keene, and this is my shop. Automatic transmissions for passenger cars and trucks are most of what we do: diagnosed, rebuilt and installed here on Tebor Road.
We also do general repair, and fleet maintenance for local businesses. Call the shop and you’ll get me.

Do you only do transmissions?
No. Transmissions are the specialty, but we do general repair on cars and trucks, and fleet maintenance for local businesses.
Should I rebuild or replace my transmission?
It depends on what failed, the mileage and what the car is worth. We’ll tell you which makes sense after the diagnosis.
Can you build a transmission for my hot rod or race car?
Yes: Turbo 350, Turbo 400 and Powerglide units, freshened up or built, with the installation and fabrication to fit them.
How do I find the shop?
